Member Profiles

These are some of the people you will meet at the club. Membership is just £30 for a year. Come along to any meeting - free of charge - for a sample of what we are like ...

Jenny Sutherland

Picture
Jenny joined last year. She loves the power of computer editing. She won the Novice Cup and overall fourth place in last year's annual holiday competition.

If you have questions about setting up your computer for video editing, just ask Jen.

She is also one of our best soundtrack makers. Her collection of royalty free music tracks is unrivalled and she is always happy to advise on music for your productions.

Jim likes all aspects of movie making but specialises in animation. His simple cut-outs are always full of life and he gives their stories plenty of humour.  He firmly believe that soundtracks need at least as much attention as the pictures to get right.

He has been a past treasurer and has taken more third-places awards in club contests than anyone else! His aim is to make second place next year and he claims to have a secret new animation technique which will get him the award.  We wait and see.

Sir Peter Gwent

Picture
Peter is our oldest member. He started making films on Standard-8mm film, moved to Super-8 and claims he still has "boxes and boxes of cine reels". But he keeps up to date and has made several notable video travelogues.

As a local councillor he keeps an eye on any business which might make an interesting topic for a club documentary. When the latest pavement scrubbinb technology was introduced we were able to interview the staff who selected it and the ones who now use it to keep our streets clear.
